Hello friends! I know I have been a quiet blogger again. So sorry!
So what did I learn this week?
The main thing I learned is that writing something on your calendar/planner is only helpful if you actually look at said calendar/planner. When we received our sports schedules at the beginning of the season I wrote every game down. And usually just writing it down means I will remember it. But there are a lot of tee ball and softball games. And many have been rescheduled due to the amount of rain we have had this month. And if you don't check your schedule, you might miss a game. And so we did. The kids had a tee ball game last night and we totally missed it. I even looked at the online schedule yesterday to see when our makeup game was scheduled and totally skipped over the Monday schedule, where I would have seen our team's name. So, a calendar/planner is most helpful if you actually look at it.
On a happier note, I learned once again that I love living in Texas. While I'm sure to complain about the absurd heat come July and August, for now I will rave about our beautiful weather. The last two days have been gorgeous and today promises more of the same. Mild and sunny and just undeniably some of God's best work.

Calendars do help -if you look at them!
Glad you enjoy Texas. Sounds lovely.
God is indeed a clever creator of such beautiful things for us to enjoy.
I have 2 calendars that I use and one gets updated regularly. Lesson - stick to one calendar. That's a bummer you missed a game, hopefully there's still plenty of the season left.
With all these rain outs it's not surprising you missed one. I have sadly had to resort to a huge dry erase board with all the kids color coded with their schedules. I never thought I would actually have to do it but it's been a life saver. I keep it current and everyone now knows to check the board to see what's going on.
I am with you on calenders, I am lost without them.
I write everything on them. If something is important for me though, I need to put it down in my dh's column though, to ensure he notices it!
So I suggest using a blackberry for your scheduling. It has a reminder feature that I find oh so helpful!!!!
I tried so many different calendars and planners in a vain attempt to be more organized - always having something come back to bite me. I have a blackberry now and I love it! I have the alarm set on it for various times depending the level of planning I need to have done before said occurrence happens. My phone yells at me when I forget. Love it!
It definitely is hard to remember to look at the calendar when you're not used to using it. I write everything on mine.
I am totally with you since last week while I LOOKED at the calendar I STILL went to my dentist appt a week early!!! I need to do what my husbands does and set those alarm alerts on my phone or something
and yay for nice weather .. its like november over here ... I have to turn the heater on the last few mornings .. THE HEATER .. its MAY 19th!!!
I forgot about a playdate AT MY HOUSE! because I forgot to write it down at all. Ugh.
And yes, the weather has been divine!
I have this same problem! Once my hair stylist called 20 min after my appt was booked asking if I was coming. Um, yeah, and it was totally written on my calendar too.
Good thing we live close to the salon!
And I wish I lived in Texas. It's freezing here again. sigh.
Don't feel bad about missing the game, we had a few no shows tonight at our t-ball game. I think they just forgot the rain make up dates, it happens.
I learn that calendar lesson all the time! Does that mean I really haven't learned it yet?
