Spring Reading List

This will be a very short list at this time, mainly because I have not thought too much about what I want to read when Lent is over. I prefer fiction and I gave that up. So, I will be adding to this list as time goes on.

The Innocent by Harlan Coben

The Little Friend by Donna Tartt

The Kite-Runner by ?

Harry Potter 1-6 by J.K. Rowling

Jewel by Brett Lott

Eldest by Christopher Paolini

Cane River by Lalita Tademy

Second Draft of My Life by Sara Lewis

Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi

More to come.

Go here to see more lists from other bloggers. Thanks to Katrina at Callapidder Days for challenging us all to read more.

Update: Okay, after all of the comments on Harry Potter I must share something. I have not read any of them, nor have I seen the movies! I know it is hard to believe, but it is true. I just never felt all that interested, and in some ways still do not. But, it seems like I am missing out by not reading them, so I will tackle them now. Besides, my mom has the first 5, so I don't have to fight to get them at the library.

I keep meaning to read Eragon and Eldest, but haven't yet. And I need to do a Harry Potter refresher too, before the next book comes out. Not sure how I'm going to fit that in, though! Thanks for joining the challenge -- enjoy your reading!

Loved Paolini...and eager for HP 7! Comes out just in time for my birthday!

I can't wait for the final Harry Potter to come out! They've all been so good.

I was the same way about HP. When something is so hyped up, I usually stay away from it. But I loved the books and I can see why they are so popular. Great little nuggets of fiction - it's easy to get sucked in!

I am in the same boat with you. I have not read any of the HP books, nor seen any of the movies even though my sons tell me I must see them. Harlan Coben is a new author to me and I have devoured his books, they are good! I read Jewel years ago and have seen it on many a list. Happy Reading!

The Kite Runner is great! There was a push to have all the freshman at the university where I work read it to inspire conversations. I loved it! Especially since the culture was similar to the one I lived in.
As for HP, I just recently started in, and they're great, it's the truth. But at least now I can buy the books cheaper.

The Kite Runner (Khaled Hosseini)
was by far one of my most favorites... definitely pick that one up when the Easter season begins...

I read the first 4 HPs, but have not rushed through the other two that I have, because I still have to wait for that last one to come out in paperback, so. . . .

What I will say (about the hype) is that the first one didn't do much for me, but I had bought the first two, and after the first one, I really did love them.

Jewel is excellent! I am re-reading the HP series again in prep for the upcoming last installment due in July. I have been reading this series for 7 years, what with my ids age differences, and still enjoy them!
